Day 11
I didn't do real well today! I really want to stick with this but sometimes it is hard. If I get off too much though, I know that I'll never get back on.
I had my breakfast omelete which I will now stop as I saw them make it--butter!! I have to figure out something for breakfast. It may just have to be my teaspoon of oat bran.
For dinner I could not decide where I wanted my salad from. I chose convenience at Schlotzky's and regretted it. They use too much spinach which I am not crazy about. It tured out to be an okay salad but it wasn't my favorite. I seriously considered calling in to Cotton Patch and picking up the grilled chicken and salad. When I get back from Spring Break, I may have to do that!! Then I was still hungry so I ate some of the halos that were in my closet. Yes, that is definitely not on Phase II.
One of my colleagues mentioned today that high protein is linked to cancer in the news recently. That kind of stopped me in my tracks about this diet. In my mind I started weighing the consequences. Cancer, diabetes, stroke--which one should I avoid the most??

Day 10 - End of Phase 1
Day 10
Had my usual breakfast of omelet at school. Missed lunch. For dinner, I had chicken tenders and some chili from Wendy's. It's really hard to make good choices when you are working as much as I am lately. AND not having a kitchen to whip up some scrambled eggs or get a rotisserie chicken which always sounds good. Best 2 meals that I've had during this phase were Cotton Patch (grilled chicken) and Ralph and Kakoos (grilled shrimp and maui maui). I haven't a clue as to whether I've lost weight this week as I can't weigh until the weekend, but I've starved a few times so surely I have:-)

Days 7-9
Day 7
Yesterday, somehow I stepped wrong and really messed up my knee--worse than it has ever been. I think I said earlier that the primary reason I'm trying to lose weight is for knee replacement sometime soon--probably in the fall. Hope I can make it until then.
We had scrambled eggs and sausage for breakfast. Sausage is probably on the Dukan Don't list! For lunch I made chicken salad with boiled eggs, a few chopped pickles and onions, and a dollop of mayonnaise. Yes, I know mayonnaise shouldn't be on there. We are planning grilled pork steaks for dinner. Unfortunately, we will more than likely grill those in the house :-( As you can see in the picture, it is a pretty dreary day here, but at least it isn't as cold as some places!
I did weigh this morning and I've lost 7 pounds since I started a week ago tomorrow! WooHoo!!!
Day 8
I weighed again this morning and am very pleased with the results if I do say so myself. My whole goal is 70 pounds. I think I'll be successful with PT after the surgery at that weight.
For breakfast, I had 2 eggs and 4 pieces of turkey bacon. I could probably do with 2 pieces, but my sweet husband cooks it for me so I hate to tell him that!
We missed lunch today, but about 5, we shared grilled maui maui, 4 grilled shrimp, and a 6 oz steak. It was delicious at my favorite place. Very hard to do, but I told them no potatoes, no bread, no rice. Just grilled veggies for my hubby and we shared the meat. I've decided that this 10 day Phase I really makes you crave vegetables. They looked so good! I'm going to have the biggest salad on Thursday!
Day 9
Started the day late as there was ice everywhere. Had breakfast with Dave around 9:30 then got ready to
come back to work. We had scrambled eggs and I had 4 slices turkey bacon. For dinner, I took my friend Karin out for her birthday. I had grilled chicken and a salad. Yes, I sort of blew Day 9 with the salad. But it was soooo good. On Thursday, it won't be blowing it! Only 1 more day in Phase I--moving on to Phase II.

Days 4 - 6
Day 4
Another easy day! For breakfast, ham omelet, no cheese. Lunch were turkey roll ups with laughing cow cheese, only 1 triangle. For dinner, my favorite on this diet. BBQ brisket lean, with a bit of BBQ sauce and a few pickles. It's 5:53 on February 27, and I'm almost halfway through the 10 day start up and finished eating for the night!
Day 5
Today I skipped breakfast which is NEVER a good idea; also chips are NEVER a good idea. I didn't do chips, just reminding myself of Dukan's advice. Many may think this is a bad diet--not healthy, etc. But is is like my doctor said, it beats what you are doing now which is nothing. She is so right. My health is bad because of my eating habits so I can at least eat bad and maybe lose weight.
The day did get better--although I ate more Chick McNuggets. It's mostly protein so it is sort of my guilty pleasure right now. Had some chicken and brisket at the meeting which was perfect! Skipped the broccoli salad, potatoes and yummy Tres Leches cake for my friend's birthday. Sad!
Came home to a steak that my sweet husband had made. Long drive home so I was too tired to even think about eating which is a good thing!
Day 6
Today is going to be tough as it is a day that I am hanging out at home trying to get caught up and easy access to food! UGH! So far, so good though. Late breakfast of 2 eggs, 4 pieces of turkey bacon. I was going to weigh today but I forgot to. I plan to do that first thing in the morning. Hope I'm not disgusted with it as I didn't weigh before starting the diet 6 days ago and had no idea how much I'd gained in the last few weeks.
Looks like I may have made it through the day. I'm about to have some catfish, no potatoes, onion rings, hush puppies--nothing but catfish! Four days to go in Phase I!!

Days 1-3 - Some Success!
Once again, I have decided to diet. You can call it what you want to, but in reality, it is a diet. A diet that I should be on for the rest of my life. But,I am going to take it one minute at a time.
In 2011-12, I started a diet using the Dukan diet--high protein, low fat. At that time, I started in May of 2012, and by Christmas that year, I was down 96 pounds. Unfortunately, shortly after that, I decided that I did need carbs and lost the battle AGAIN with a gain of 70 pounds.
It was a great diet and fit into my busy schedule so when I decided this past week that I really do need to prepare for knee surgery, I chose to go on the Dukan Diet again.
Day 1
I'm pumped about this diet. I got a late start that day so my husband made me a couple of eggs and bacon (need to get turkey bacon which he has done this week!). I had taken my lunch with me for the week and placed in my fridge so for lunch, I have about 1/3 lb. Turkey pastrami, freshly sliced, on triangle of laughing cow cheese and 3 cilantro/lime pickles (won't be buying those again--too much lime). For dinner, I also had some lunch meat rollups. Not bad!
Day 2
I decided to try the school's omelet. I had brought some picante from home to use. So put a little on a ham/omelet and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Lunch rollups for lunch and a 10-piece McDonald's mcnugget finished off the day.
Day 3
On this day, I tried the omelet again. At lunch had the rollups and for dinner, McNuggets. Wait a minute--did the same exact thing I did today. Goodness!! Better switch it up tomorrow! Because even though I looked up the nutrition value on McNuggets, they probably have too much fat!
